W12

Fri 15 – Sun 17 January 2027

We will research together in the archive of the Textile Centre Haslach in historical pattern books and use this diversity for inspiration to develop Jacquard fabrics. We will look at weaves, materials, colours, and patterns. These will form the basis for creating our own designs. The results can be very diverse – from pictorial designs and small-scale repeat patterns to experimental approaches.
Using CAD software for programming Jacquard fabrics, the design is converted into a weave file. This is then transformed into fabric on the computer-controlled TC1 and TC2 (thread controller 1 and 2) hand Jacquard looms.
