Colour interweaving & warp dyeing
Thurs 04 – Sun 07 February 2027
Through the rhythmic alternation of two colours in warp and weft, striking patterns can be created on the loom. These often appear quite complex but are usually relatively simple in terms of weaving technique and binding. In this course, we will get to the bottom of these so-called colour interlacings and experiment with the patterning possibilities.
To partially break the strict forms that arise, the technique is combined with (more or less) controlled chain-stitching. This opens up a large window for free design within the simple technique.
