E01

between Wed 10th – Sun 14th February 2027

You already have experience with weaving but lack the necessary equipment at home to keep up? You have a specific idea for a weaving project in mind that you'd like to bring to life, but don't have the right loom? A planned Jacquard fabric needs to finally be realised? – Then the Open Workshop Days are the right place for you!
During these days, our looms are available for individual projects. If needed, Liese Grusch will be available as the contact person for dobby weaving. Elfie Baumgartner can be consulted for tapestry weaving, and Elisabeth Stötzler will provide assistance with the hand Jacquard looms.
In principle, the Open Workshop Days are not structured as courses, but rather focus on independent work. The prerequisites for using the Jacquard equipment are sound knowledge of handling TC1/TC2 looms.
Your wishes will be discussed in advance. You can stay for up to five days, or you can book individual days – depending on the project you are undertaking.

Group of participants: all those who wish to autonomously use the web equipment in the Textile Centre
Requirements: Independence in handling shaft or TC1/TC2 looms; if you do not wish to carry out your project on a fully set-up loom, but require your own warp, then independent winding and beaming of the warp and setting up the loom are a prerequisite. Warps on TC1 and TC2 looms are fixed and predetermined.
Number of participants: max. 8 people at the same time
Course times: individual
Costs: Dobby looms: 70 Euros per day / Tapestry loom: 50 Euros per day / TC1/TC2 looms: 180 Euros per day, material costs are billed individually
