Basket weaving is a very old craft that plays an essential role in many cultures.
This weekend, you can immerse yourself in basket weaving. You'll learn the basic techniques of round weaving: creating the cross base, inserting stakes, the base rim, side weaving, and the final closure of the basket. The colourful variety of willow and your creativity will give the woven piece a personal touch. Be warned – weaving can be addictive, as it's a very meditative pursuit!

Course instructor: NICOLE KUDLA, Austria
Born in 1978, lives and works in the Mühlviertel region, completed primary school teacher training and qualified Montessori.
Educator, intensive engagement with many different weaving techniques and materials, training with international weaving artists, studies at the Linz University of Art - Department of Sculpture since 2022.
