Textile experiments with cardboard
Mon 27 - Fri 31 July 2026
Cardboard is omnipresent - as packaging material, transport protection or disposable product. In this course, it becomes the starting point for textile experiments and is given a second life. We collect, cut, weave, braid and embroider with found cardboard and packaging remnants and explore its surprising malleability.
By taking a fresh look at what is supposedly worthless, we create structured surfaces, objects and textile hybrids between sculpture and fabric. The creative use of discarded material thus also becomes a practical reflection on recycling, resource awareness and sustainability.
Together we will experiment with different techniques, e.g. weaving with cardboard strips and layers of colour, weaving traditional and experimental ribbons, embroidering on cardboard as a surface or object carrier, etc. The workshop invites you to create freely - from the first playful attempts to more complex structures. The focus is on curiosity, manual experimentation and the joy of placing materials in a new context.
