S.17

Mon 27 - Fri 31 July 2026

CAD jacquard software is used to convert digital design files into a weaving file. You can use this to weave fabrics with a repeat width of up to 70 cm on digitally controlled hand jacquard looms. The initial ideas can be very diverse: you can use an analogue design, a digital photo, a pattern, a fabric or a weave cartridge. You will get to know the CAD/CAM jacquard programme from ARAHNE and gain an insight into its functions.
In a detailed material research we explore the textile materiality. In doing so, we use both textile remnants and the rich yarn stock of the Haslach Textile Centre.
Digital hand Jacquard looms TC1 and TC2 (Thread Controller) are available for weaving. These are prepared so that you can produce quality patterns in a wide variety of colours, materials, weaves/structures and designs.
