Enjoy five days full of inspiration for your knitting. Each day you will explore a different colourful knitting technique. The theme of recycling is part of the programme: The course instructor will show you how you can use inspiring ways of using scrap yarn and old sweaters into your knitting.
The workshop is focussed on developing your creativity and to motivate you to make your own knitted fabrics. Prepare yourself for an explosion of ideas to dive into, to explore and to make samples. You will go home with a pile of samples and a notebook full of fresh ideas.
The workshop includes:

  • Learn about multi stranded knitting and how to design your own motifs
  • How to get inspired by your surroundings
  • Using scrap yarn to create your own magic balls
  • Learn how to reuse your old sweaters into new ones
  • Learn how different shades of yarn work together in intarsia knitting

Group of participants: anyone who’s looking for fresh ideas and new inspiration in knitting
Requirements: everyone is welcome - whether you are a technical star or a beginner, there’s enough to learn for any knit lover
Number of participants: max. 12 people

Course times: Mon - Thu 9:00-12:30 and 14:00-17:30, Fri 9:00-12:30 and 14:00-16:00
Course fee: 420 euros, for students 380 euros (excluding material costs)

Course instructor: MAARTJE BOER, Netherlands
born 1974, lives and works in Maastricht; calling herself a knithead; holding a Master’s degree in Design and educated as a textile designer at Maastricht Institute of Arts where she also teaches since 2001. Started her knitwear design studio STRIKKS in 2011.
