Reach for the stars!
On December 5, 2026
On this cosy workshop day, we will get into the mood for Advent and Christmas together. Various stations will be set up at several locations in the Weaving Museum of the Haslach Textile Centre, where beautiful Christmas stars can be created using a variety of techniques. Ursula Gahleitner, Christiana Hehenberger, Marianne Kneidinger, Christina Leitner and Lydia Voglmayr from the Textile Culture Haslach association, as well as guests Bettina Zwirner and Nicole Kudla, will present different ideas. For example, decorative stars will be folded from printed paper, woven from willow, threaded from beads, knotted from threads, braided from strips, or Christmas cards will be embroidered.
To begin, all techniques will be presented, then everyone can rotate between the different stations, delve deeper into a particular technique, or try out all the offerings in succession. The aim is to find a little peace through the work of one's own hands, to potter about contentedly on small, manageable projects, to exchange ideas, to eat a few biscuits in between, to learn new techniques, and to go home with beautiful, small gifts for loved ones right at the start of the Advent season.
Group of participants: everyone aged 12 and over who enjoys making small gifts themselves and would prefer to do it together with others, away from the pre-Christmas rush, rather than alone.
Requirements: none
Number of participants: Max. 30 people
Course times: Sat, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Course fee: 90 Euros, for students 80 Euros (excluding material costs)
Course leadership Ursula Gahleitner, Christiana Hehenberger, Marianne Kneidinger, Nicole Kudla, Christina Leitner, Lydia Voglmayr and Bettina Zwirner
