Darning – the repair workshop
Fri 12th – Sun 14th March 2027
Who wears their jacket until a hole appears? And their jumper until the cuffs get thin? When this happens, it's often time to buy new things – or we need to learn the art of darning!
And we're going to take that literally: it will cover both the classic art of darning, whether it's a hole in a sock or a tear in a jacket. Once you've mastered the basic technique, we can then move on to more elaborate and eye-catching solutions. In this way, mending becomes a decorative feature of the garment.
As well as fabric scraps, threads, long thin needles with heads, embroidery hoops, darning eggs and magnifying glasses, you should also bring enthusiasm, patience and, of course, your favourite items of clothing.
